Finding it difficult to scan from your HP Printer? Here is how you scan on Windows computer effortlessly. Just follow the instructions that are provided below. 


Download HP Scan software from the website 

You don’t have to install HP Scan software as it will come along with the full feature driver. If you haven’t downloaded it, you need to visit 123.hp.com and furnish the printer model number.

The web page will prompt you to download HP Smart App. However, you need a Microsoft account to download this application. Just click the link at the end of the web page to download the basic software version. 

After a few seconds, HP Easy Start file will be available in the web browser’s footer. You have to run the HP Easy Start file when the system prompts you to do so. Otherwise, right-click on the file and tap Open to start using the HP Easy Start file. Just follow the onscreen prompts without any hindrance. 

You can also visit support.hp.com and enter your printer model number. Choose the Full feature driver when the web page prompts you. 

How to Scan in Windows using HP Scan?

  • Initially, you have to lift the scanner lid and then keep the file you want to print on the scanner glass. 

  • Check your scanner bed as it will include several guides or markings which will direct you to place the file properly.  

  • If your printer has Automatic Document feeder, then multi-pages document can also be scanned. 

  • After placing the document properly, you need to close the scanner lid.

  • Tap Windows button on your desktop or press the Windows Key to search the computer for your printer model number. Just furnish the printer model number and the desktop app will appear in the Search results. 

  • Open the HP Printer Assistant. Then you have to choose the Print, Scan & Fax tab to commence Scan on your Windows computer. 

  • Tap Scan -> Scan a Document or Photo 

  • Choose Scan Shortcut and modify the Settings if you want to do so. 

  • You can select either Show Scan Preview or Show Viewer After Scan. 

  • Finally, click Scan and follow the onscreen prompts.
